MTH 30-4198-1 AMTRAK PACIFIC SURFLINER RTR SET NIB PROTO 2.0 F59 #452 VERY RARE. THIS IS MY LAST AMTRAK PACIFIC SURFLINER RTR SET. All items are in the original packaging and have not been opened. The train and all parts are untested. See below for more detailed information about this RTR set.

The locomotive and cars pictured are pictures of my personal Amtrak Pacific Surfliner MTH train and for illustrative purposes only. Since this is an unopened set pictures of the actual locomotive and cars can not be provided. It is a known issue that some of the sets came with a sound set in the locomotive that was not for the Pacific Surfliner route.

There is no way to tell what sound set the locomotive in this set has in it since the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner set is unopened. If the locomotive does not have the Surfliner sound set you may be able to download the sound set from the MTH website and/or have a MTH service technician install the sound set in the locomotive. This set is from approximately 2008.

J and W electronics offers a very nice product, a BCR, as a replacement for the MTH battery. This RTR set comes from our non-smoking home.

The RTR set has been stored in a climate controlled room under our layout. However, due to the weight, size and value of this item a custom box must be constructed that strictly adheres to UPS guidelines. Keep in mind that gas prices have never been higher, inflation is at a 40 year high, the package will weigh approximately 40 pounds and the package will be large. Additionally the RTR set is coming from Phoenix, AZ which means if you are on the East coast the set may travel over 2000 miles to get to you. I'm thinning out the herd after years of collecting. Surfliner set is headed by an accurate model of Amtrak's F59PHI diesel, built by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors. Our unique Proto-Speed Control lets you start your train so smoothly you won't spill a drop of water in the café car, and run steadily at any speed from a crawl to over 100 mph. The F59PHI's sound system features an authentic diesel motor, horn and bell, crew conversations, Surfliner station announcements, and squealing brakes when you stop the train. Headlights and flashing "ditch lights" are provided for nighttime operation. Trailing the locomotive are high-level cars in accurate Surfliner colors with detailed, illuminated interiors. Day or night, this train is a beautiful thing to watch in action! For even more fun, add additional Surfliner cars; your twin-motored diesel has plenty of power to pull them.
