VERY RARE Puma Waidbesteck Set 1968 Waidblatt 3588 & Jagdnicker 3588 1/2 withBOX
It is a vintage WAIDBESTECK set, composed by the famous knives 3588 WAIDBLATT and the rare 3588 1/2 JAGDNICKER. Matching serial numbers 56984, so they were produced in the last quarter of 1968, according to the PUMA serial tables. All designed by the Oberforstmeister Walter Frevert in the 50s. Just some storage stains and hairlines that can be easily buffed away. Only the leather sheath has age signs. I try my best to show everything in the pictures. The smaller JAGDNICKER, is made of stainless steel, while the WAIDBLATT is made of high carbon patented PUMASTER steel. Antler scales, the sterling silver hex patch on the WAIDBLATT, leather lanyard. The original wooden box, without lining, that has got rotten during the years, and the original dark green leather double sheath complete the set.
For the lovers of figures, the blade measures 8,5" and the overall lenght is 13" for the main knife, while the smaller one is 8" overall long, with a blade of 4". In the following years the globalization has killed many of the vintage family business in the area. Puma, after several changes of ownership managed to outsource some productions, and now even the most important pieces like this are assembled in China with German kits, and, unfortunately, not German finish..
